Recently we were lucky to be among a select few schools visited by the touring band of 1st Regiment Royal Australian Artillery, based out of the Gallipoli Barracks in Enoggera, Brisbane. Instrumental music students were invited to rehearse with the band across the school day as they prepared for the evening concert in which the students also performed alongside the army band.

An additional highlight of the visit was the lunch time concert that was a high impact and high-volume crowd stopping event. Students from all across the school were drawn to the spectacle of live music entertaining them in their break time. Without a doubt the evening concert was the main attraction of the day, with many parents, students and community members in attendance.

The incredible talent and professionalism of these service people was inspiring. We are immensely grateful for their visit and look forward to further opportunities in the future to interact with this group when they tour again.
