Year 10 Update
Ms Kate Dearden
Year 10s have made a hectic start to Term 3 with SET Planning (Senior Education and Training) taking place in Week 2. Students were enthusiastic participants in the three days, engaging with Subject talks, Senior and Past students panel, the Speed-date your Career event and the Careers Market as well as researching potential careers and making preliminary subject choices for Year 11. I congratulate students on their focus and effort during the process and feel that they have made informed decisions about their future.
The process does not end here though and next Thursday 7 August students and their parents are invited to the Year 11 Subject Selection evening to discuss their choices and options directly with teachers.
Students will then be submtting their Subject Selection form for Year 11 and participating in an interview with a staff member to confirm that the choices meet their planned pathway. Please note, parents are welcome to participate in this interview to ensure the best outcome.
Border District Athletics
Congratulations to those students who completed at Border District Athletics, putting in strong performances and representing the school with distrinction: Hannah Hill, Ethan Kent, and Poppy Stewart. Darling Downs Athletics will take place in a few weeks time on 21-22 August in Toowomba. Good luck to participating athletes.
Volunteering
Over the next three weeks, Year 10 Volunteering students will participate in Meals on Wheels, Primary School Athletics Carnivals and run the ESports Interhouse Competition.
Year 10s should also be looking out for other opprtunities over the next few weeks.
